MY PRECIOUS PLANT

 

It was during the ayyam of Milad Mubarak of our beloved Al Hayyul Muqaddas Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (Q.R.), in the year 2013 (1434H). Burhani Foundation gave away plants to all the students of Saifee High School on the auspicious occasion of 102^nd Milad Mubarak. Mohammed received one decorative plant in a polythene bag. He brought it home and asked me to properly plant it in a pot. I received the plant graciously and did the needful. Hardly did I knew that we will not have among us, our beloved Maula during the next ayyam of Milad Mubarak. In a way the said plant became a fond memories of Maula’s ayyam of Dawaat E Ars.

I remember it was after the arrival of the plant, we received the Bushra of Mulla Behlahbhai admission to Al Jamea Al Saifiyah. I planted the plant in an earthen pot and kept it on the boundary wall of our building’s terrace. The plant started growing slowly & gradually. I remember it was a Sunday afternoon and  I was working on my laptop. The climate outside was thunderous and heavy wind blew. The plant was thrown down on the terrace, I rushed outside only to see that the plant was broken into two parts, the upper parts with all the leaves and the lower stem was in the sand with the broken pot. It was a disastrous sight, my heart sank. Somehow I gathered the strength to pick up the scattered & shattered plant. I again planted the lower stem part in a new pot and started regularly watering it. To my surprise, after a gap of few days, the plant started to grow and this time it grew even more faster and that too with two branches.By this time, we all lost our beloved Maula Al Hayyul Muqaddas Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (Q.R.). The plant became more and more dearer to me and by now has occupied a special place in my heart as it carried the fond memories of our beloved Maula(Q. R.). 

Days past and the once again the plant grew beautifully. Unfortunately I had placed the pot on the same spot of the boundary wall. Once again on a stormy night due to heavy rains, the pot got dislocated & fall down. This time it fall on the other side of the boundary wall into the gutter. Early morning when I got up and went outside I noticed that there was no plant at the spot. I rushed towards the boundary wall and found the helpless plant fallen in the gutter. Once again I was broken. I still remember it was around 6.00am in the morning. Surprisingly I found a rag picker moving around in the gutter at this point of time. I requested him to pass on the plant to me. He raised the plant towards me and I picked it up like a baby fallen in a well is caught by the father with due care & diligence.

Once again I planted it, this time I was a bit sensible, I planted it in a big bucket as it had grown quite taller and with many more branches. Also, cautiously I changed the spot and kept it near the staircase (towards 2^nd floor).  The plant started growing healthily. I tied the main stem with the grills of the staircase to support it and protect it from windy air. During the ayyam of upliftment of Mumineen, Shahzada Taha Bhai Saheb Nazmuddin (D.M.) visited one of our neighbours on the 3rd floor. I got the sharaf of talaqqi of Shahzada Saheb. While passing by the plant, I whispered to Shahzada Saheb that this plant was gifted to my son during the ayyam of 102nd Milad Mubarak of Al Hayyul Muqaddas Maula(Q. R.). Shahzada Saheb graciously did Nazar at the plant.

In the year 2016, the repair works of the building started. We had to move out of the building. I carefully took the plant to our new home at Saifee Jubilee street. Here we got the bushra of Mulla Mohammedbhai admission to Al Jamea Al Saifiyah  In around 18 months again we had to vacate the said house and we moved to a new home at Yaqoob galli and once again we had to transfer all the belongings. I still remember how the movers & packers guy mishandled my plant. I scolded at him and ask him to carry the plant carefully.  In a short span of 3 months we moved to a new home at Mutton Street. I had problems the neighbors for positioning the plant. Somehow I managed and kept it near our door. The plant was not getting any sunlight. By the grace of Allah Shubhanawu and Dua Mubarak of Aqa Maula(T.U.S.), our building got fully repaired. We got our home completely ready and we moved in. Once again I placed the plant at the same spot near the staircase.

This time I had to face another problem for my plant. Mouse created all the trouble and during the night time bite off the plastic bucket and dug out all the soil outside. In the morning when I went out , I was horrified at the site of my plant. I transferred my plant to a bigger & wider earthen pot. I also covered the stem very well with a plastic folder as it was also bitten of by the mouse.

Finally, once again I relocated my plant and I placed it on the opposite side by the boundary walls. Alhamdulillah the plant is growing very well. Every time I look at my plant it reminds me of Al Hayyul Muqaddas Maula(Q. R.). Everyday in the morning I watered my plant well. Whenever I go out of station, I instruct our neighbors to water the plant in my absence. When I go to work, I have a look at my plant and as a child waves hand saying "Take care, see you soon", my plant waves it branches at me. Believe me the very sight at my plant is such a pleasant and beautiful experience. Alhamdulillah.
